From the simplest perspective, Running Between The Lines refers to the confines within which runners live – lines of the track, lines of the road, and, mostly importantly, the start and finish lines. These boundaries are always there, clearly marked, for all the world to see. They represent the standard to which we hold and measure ourselves.
But on a deeper level, Running Between The Lines is about understanding and appreciating everything that happens between those lines. It’s about discovering meaning in all the things that can’t be measured in minutes and seconds and miles and meters. It’s about the journey.
Rarely do people become successful or the best or reach their dreams without experiencing failure and hardship along the way, and I am no exception. Running Between The Lines is about embracing every part of the journey. It’s about truth and honesty. It’s about being real.
If in sharing my journey, from the highest of peaks to the lowest of valleys, I can help, comfort, motivate, or inspire even just one other person as they embark on their own journey, I will feel the purpose of this blog fulfilled.
